At Avant-Garde Construction, we are not only masters at building extensions, we are also experienced roofers.
This can be seen on one of our current projects which consisted of replacing the old roof structure with brand new rafters at the front and full-length dormer to the back.
The old roof had plain roof tiles that can be suited to both modern and historical appearances and withstand the harsh UK elements well. They are therefore a popular choice for performance and aesthetics in most cases.
With this build though, our clients wanted to replace the old tiles with ones that were sleek and modern whilst retaining durability and performance. Our recommendation was a slate tile for these exact reasons – Modern – Durability – Performance.
Marley Eternit Thrutone Slate Roof Tiles
The Marley Eternit Thrutone Slate Roof tile is a market-leading lightweight roof slate with a smooth, low profile with square cut edges that looks modern and sleek and comes in three shapes, providing extra design flexibility. It is well suited to complex roof geometries, available in six colours and a versatile tile too, as it can also be used for facade applications as well! It is easy to install and creates minimal wastage, making it a perfect choice of roof tile. It has achieved a BES 6001 ‘Excellent’ rating as it is responsibly sourced and is also 100% recyclable.
As you can see, the roof tiles look great and whilst being environmentally friendly too, what’s not to love?!
